The schedule is out and the Minnesota Vikings will host eight games at U.S. Bank Stadium during the 2024-25 season. They’ll also have eight road games and one game in London at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Vikings will open the season with an away game against the New York Giants for the first time since Week 1 of the 1969 season. Kickoff set for noon CT on Sept. 8, 2024. It’ll be the second time in the Vikings’ 64 year history that their first game of the season will be against the Giants.
In Week 2, the Vikings host their home opener against the San Francisco 49ers as they seek their eighth-consecutive victory at home against the 49ers, dating back to Dec. 26, 1994.
Next, the Vikings welcome the Houston Texans to Minnesota for only the third time in team history. They’ll be in search of their sixth-straight win against the Texans. Minnesota is one of two teams that have never been beaten by Houston. The other is the Philadelphia Eagles.
The following week, Minnesota travels to Lambeau Field for a noon CT contest against the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 29. The Vikings are looking for their second-consecutive victory at Green Bay in back-to-back regular seasons since stringing together three wins from 1991-93.
As part of the NFL’s International Games series, the Vikings will host the Jets in London in Week 5. The Vikings are seeking their fourth-consecutive win against the Jets, dating back to Dec. 7, 2014. Minnesota is 3-0 in regular season London games. The game will be available at 8:30am CT on NFL Network. This game will mark the fifth time in club history the Vikings will face both the Giants and Jets in the same season. Should Minnesota sweep the New York franchises in 2024, it would be the first time they’ve accomplished that feat.
Following the team’s bye in Week 6, the Vikings return to U.S. Bank Stadium for a divisional matchup with the Detroit Lions on Oct. 20, before traveling to the West Coast for a prime-time contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football at 7:15 p.m. CT. Head Coach Kevin O’Connell will return to Los Angeles for the first time since helping the club capture Super Bowl LVI to cap the 2021 season.
In Week 9, the Vikings host the Indianapolis Colts in their first meeting since completing the largest comeback in NFL history during their 2022 matchup, when they overcame a 33-point halftime deficit and prevailed in overtime to secure the NFC North title.
The Vikings will travel to Jacksonville, Tennessee and Chicago in Weeks 10-12, playing three-consecutive road games for the first time since 2017. At Chicago, the team hopes to capture its fifth-straight victory on the road against the Bears. With a win in 2024, Minnesota would match its longest win streak at Chicago since the team also won five consecutive contests from 1996-2000.
Minnesota returns home for three games, beginning with a Week 13 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. At home, the Vikings are 12-4 against the Cardinals and have won the past 11 contests dating back to Oct. 13, 1991. The 11-game home win streak is the longest active home win streak in the NFL. It is tied for the second-longest streak in franchise history, trailing their 13-consecutive home wins against the Detroit Lions from Sept. 20, 1998, to Sept. 26, 2010.
The Vikings welcome the Atlanta Falcons Week 14 and conclude their homestand with a Monday Night Football meeting against the Bears on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. CT. Minnesota will then travel to Seattle to face their final non-divisional opponent of the season in a 3:05 p.m. CT contest against the Seahawks.
For the second year in a row, the Vikings wrap up the regular-season slate against the Green Bay Packers at home in Week 17 and with a trip to Detroit in Week 18. Minnesota’s game against Green Bay will be played at noon CT on Dec. 29, while the date and time of the Lions game will be announced at a later date due to the NFL’s Flexible Scheduling.
