GETTYSBURG, S.D. — Ipswich captured team titles at Thursday’s (May 16, 2024) Super Region track and field meet.
The Ipswich girls finished with 110 points, ahead of James Valley Christian (104) and Potter County (98). The Ipswich boys scored 131 points, ahead of Timber Lake (85.5) and North Central (76).
Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter won the 800-meter run (2:03.26) and 1,600-meter run (4:41.62) in the boys division while Highmore-Harrold’s Aitor Ortega won the high jump (6-1).
In girls action, Herreid/Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim won the 100-meter dash (:12.57) and was on the winning 400-meter relay (:51.47) and 800-meter relay (1:48.82). Potter County’s Emma Schlachter won the 400-meter dash (1:01.41) and ran the anchor leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:08.64) while Kayden Cronin won the triple jump (34-4). Sully Buttes’ Olivia Olson won the 300-meter hurdles (:46.81).
