“Minecraft” recently celebrated its 15th birthday. So it’s ABOUT TIME it gets the TV treatment. Just look at “Fallout”, “Halo”, “The Last of Us” . . . the list of video game adaptations could go on.
Well, it’s officially happening at Netflix and it’ll be ANIMATED. Not much is known about it yet, except it’ll be an original story with new characters to show a new side of the “Minecraft” world. No word when it’ll come out.
It’s not clear if anyone behind the Jason Momoa and Jack Black movie is involved, but it doesn’t seem like it. The “Minecraft” movie will hit theaters next April.
“Minecraft” is the best-selling video game of all time with over 300 million copies sold.
