JULY 22, 2024:
People in Fort Pierre who still have branches and trees left to pick up from the July 13, 2024, storm will now have to dispose of them on their own.
As of Monday (July 22, 2024), Fort Pierre city employees have completed the last sweep around town. Anything left now is the property owner’s responsibility to remove.
The City of Fort Pierre appreciates everyone’s effort in getting the trees and branches picked up.
JULY 15, 2024:
People in Pierre who have tree limbs, twigs, leaves and other yard waste from the storm over the weekend (July 13-14, 2024) can take them to the Solid Waste Baling Facility at 2800 East Park Street. Additional capacity has been opened up at that site. Please do NOT take debris to the material recovery site. It should all go to the baling facility.
In Fort Pierre, people should pile tree branches by the curb. City crews will pick them up.
JULY 14, 2024:
People in Pierre who have tree limbs, twigs, leaves and other yard waste from the storm overnight (July 13-14, 2024) to the Solid Waste Facility at 2800 East Park Street.
Additional capacity has been opened up at that site, and staff is there directing traffic and moving material. Please do NOT take debris to the material recovery site. It should all go to the baling facility at 2800 East Park.
