One of the services offered through the V.A. that is available in Mobridge is use of a D.A.V. van to shuttle veterans to medical appointments around the state. Jeff Jensen is the Commander of the Mobridge American Legion Post 4. He says they are in need of drivers.
Bill Branum is the Hospital Service Coordinator for Ft. Meade, which covers all of western South Dakota and includes Mobridge and Pierre, and down to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Branum says a CDL license is not necessary to drive the D.A.V. van.
Jensen is hoping to spread the word about the need for drivers.
Branum says the physicals are done at the V.A.
Branum says being a volunteer driver is rewarding.
Jensen says having a few more people available would help take the load off the current drivers.
