We’re not saying any of these stereotypes are true. It’s just what OTHER people think. Don’t kill the messenger . . .
Google looked at the top questions people ask about birth order. So, the oldest, youngest, and middle child. Here are the top three for each.
We’ll start with oldest first . . .
1. Why is the oldest child the shortest? It might be true for some reason, but it’s not clear if it really is. Several studies have had conflicting results.
2. Why does the oldest child get blamed for everything? Because they should know better.
3. Why is being the oldest so hard? Because you get blamed for everything.
Now, the middle child . . .
1. Why is the middle child always hated? Is that really true . . . or do people just not CARE about the middle child?
2. Why is the middle child always forgotten? See question #1.
3. Why is the middle child always left out? See question #2.
Now, the youngest . . .
1. Why is the youngest child the favorite? Because it teaches you to manipulate your parents’ emotions.
2. Why is the youngest child always spoiled? See question #1.
3. Why does the youngest child get away with everything? Because their parents have fully given up by then.
They also looked at the top questions people ask about ONLY children . . .
1. Why are only children weird? Because their best friend was the cat.
2. Why are only children so sensitive? Because they didn’t have an older sibling to pound on them.
3. Why are only children spoiled? Because there’s no competition.
