Walworth County Commission meeting Tuesday, September 24, 2024

At Tuesday’s (September 24th) meeting of the Walworth County Commission, Leah Holder was appointed Walworth County Treasurer as of September 30th.

Landfill

The commission approved the Chairman to sign the Stantec Proposal to complete a fill progression survey and do the yearly financial assurance report for the landfill at a cost of $7,600.00.

Register of Deeds

Register of Deeds Brenda DeToy requested to advertise for a full time deputy in her office to start January 1st, and the commission passed a motion to approve.

Highway

The commissioners passed a motion to install some drain tile, crossing 146th street north of Hoven that goes to a culvert and into a creek on Rose Spindler’s land.

Also approved was a WEB water bore for Maher’s.

The commissioners decided to continue with the lease on the quonset building located by the highway department for another 2 years.

The 2025 annual budget was approved during the meeting. Commissioner Justin Jungwirth made the motion.

Walworth County Auditor Kim Dills told the commissioners that the county balanced for the month of August.
