In a rare afternoon setting out at the PILC, the Girls and Boys Govs soccer teams dominated two very good Mitchell teams to get two shutout wins. The Girls won game one 3-0 with goals from Lexi Hillmer, Natalie Flottemeyer had an assist & Katelyn Taylor was named the Cowboy Country Stores Player of the Game for her outstanding play on the offensive and defensive side of the pitch. The Girls team now sets their sights on a home playoff match as the regular season winds down.
In the Boys game Lucas Hight got the Govs on the board and was followed by Caiden Ahartz. Towards the end of the game Weston Northrup got a unique opportunity to get his name on the stat sheet and came through with a goal off a penalty kick. The Boys team won 4-0 making it a combined shutout for both teams. The Boys also made history on homecoming yesterday becoming the first Govs Boys team in history to reach 8 wins since soccer became sanctioned back in 2013.
