The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation is hosting a “Manufacturing” virtual hiring event on Thursday (Oct. 3, 2024) from 2-5 p.m. CDT/ 1 to 4 p.m. MDT.
Partners for this event include the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development, South Dakota Manufacturing and Technology Solutions, South Dakota Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Economic Development Professional Association.
This event is geared toward individuals interested in pursuing a career in the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing is a vital industry in South Dakota and our state’s manufacturers provide the world with high-quality products such as medical goods, devices, radiators, programmable display systems, and automated farm technologies.
Manufacturing provides great career opportunities for individuals. In 2023, 45,303 people were working in the industry, earning an average annual wage of $61,351. With a total of 1,093 establishments in South Dakota, there are multiple career opportunities.
