On a gorgeous day for soccer at the Pilc, the boys and girls Govs Varsity teams played their first playoff doubleheader in both programs history. In game one it was a tight game all the way to the end until with only a few minutes remaining, Keyana Stillman found the back of the net to ultimately win the game for Aberdeen 1-0. Aberdeen entered as the 14 seed and was able to pull of the massive upset on the road.
In the boys game, the Govs started scoring early and often as they looked to win their first ever home playoff. Thanks to a four goal performance from Alex Oedekoven, the boys would go on to beat Spearfish 7-1 to advance to the second round. The Govs will take on Sioux Falls Lincoln on Saturday at SFL beginning at noon.
