The 49ers have been bitten by the injury-bug here early in 2024, missing key players like running back Christian McCaffrey (Achilles tendinitis), linebacker Dre Greenlaw (torn Achilles), defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (torn triceps) and safety Talanoa Hufanga (torn wrist ligaments). In last nights 36-24 win over Seattle, second-string running back Jordan Mason had to get X-rayed after a Seahawk landed on top of Mason crunching his left shoulder between the body and the turf. Mason returned for only one carry in the third quarter but was pulled and would not see the field again.
It came out this morning that Mason suffered a sprained AC joint, which is not considered a serious injury, but is definitely a concern for San Francisco considering their other injuries, especially with McCaffery out with no timeframe. Mason will undergo further testing today as we wait to hear his confirmed status.
