High school seniors in South Dakota have until Nov. 30, 2024, to submit their admission application to the state’s public universities and technical colleges– without having to pay an application fee.
The annual Free College Application Period is a joint effort of the South Dakota Board of Regents, the South Dakota Board of Technical Education and the South Dakota Department of Education.
Regents Executive Director Nathan Lukkes says access and affordability are central to their mission to boost the number of students interested in pursuing higher education in South Dakota. He says the free application period removes a financial barrier and encourages students to explore all the opportunities available at the public universities and technical colleges.
Education Secretary Joseph Graves says they know a more educated workforce strengthens the state’s economy. He says the partners want students to know about career opportunities available to them through higher education “right here at home.”
