On Friday, the Northeast Conference announced their 2024 All-Conference Football team. Mobridge-Pollock had four players named to the team, with an additional two being listed as honorable mentions. The only schools with more were Aberdeen Roncalli with five selections, and Groton Area and Clark-Willow Lake each had six. Here are the honorees for the Tigers:
ALL-CONFERENCE PLAYERS
Jackson Eisemann (Sr.) QB and S
Eisemann’s senior season was one to remember for the Tigers, as he helped lead a turnaround from a 2-6 record to 6-2 with a playoff win. He played in all 10 games for Mobridge-Pollock, throwing for 849 yards and seven touchdowns. He was sacked just three times, adding another 231 yards rushing with six scores on the ground. Eisemann had an additional 121 yards returning kickoffs, including a 79-yarder in the Tigers playoff win against McCook Central/Montrose. A starter at defensive back as well, he made 20 tackles and recovered a fumble.
Shane Henderson (Sr.) TE and S
Henderson was another standout for Mobridge-Pollock, a major playmaker on both sides of the football. As a tight end, the 6 foot, 6 inch Henderson led the Tigers in receiving with 20 catches for 329 yards and three touchdowns. A 57-yard catch and run where he stiff-armed multiple defenders for a touchdown against Clark-Willow Lake was one of the highlights of the entire season for Mobridge-Pollock. But Henderson was just as good as a defender, making 32 tackles including five for loss. In the Tigers playoff win, Henderson returned a blocked punt for a score, and recovered a fumble that he forced.
Carter Hinsz (Sr.) LB and OT
In many ways, Hinsz was the heart and soul of the 2024 Mobridge-Pollock football team. A mainstay in the trenches on both sides of the ball, Hinsz started in all 10 games both as a middle linebacker and right tackle. Even after breaking his arm against Clark-Willow Lake, Hinsz did not miss a game, back the very next week against Deuel with a cast and continuing through both playoff games. As an offensive lineman, he was part of a unit that helped the Tigers rush attack produce 1,895 yards. As a linebacker, he led the team in tackles with 90, including nine for loss.
Mack Saxon (So.) RB and all-purpose defender
Just a sophomore, Saxon was the first Mobridge-Pollock player in several years to rush for over a thousand yards. Playing in all 10 games, Saxon carried the ball 181 times for 1,245 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. He ran for nearly 7 yards per carry, and over 124 yards per game. As a receiver out of the backfield, Saxon added another 101 yards and a score. He was also used everywhere on defense, from a defensive end to a safety. Saxon made 16 tackles, including a sack, forced a fumble, and recovered another for a touchdown.
HONORABLE MENTIONS
Wyatt Ziegler (Jr.) Lineman
Ziegler was a stalwart in the middle of both lines of scrimmage for the Tigers. He started at Center on the offensive line, where in a win over Belle Fourche, Ziegler caught a deflected pass and ran it 30 yards to the end zone for a score. As a defensive tackle, Ziegler led all defensive lineman in tackles with 32. He made seven tackles for loss, which included a team-leading four sacks. Against Webster Area, he even intercepted a pass.
Easton Eisemann (So.) WR and S
Another incredible sophomore season for the Tigers belonged to Easton Eisemann. He was a favorite target in the passing game for his older brother Jackson, as they connected 16 times for 139 yards and a touchdown. Eisemann was often involved in the run game as a receiver too, rushing for 109 yards and a score on 21 carries. A two-way starter, Eisemann was second on the team in tackles with 79 from his safety position. He also had an interception.
