Have you had a chance to see “Wicked” yet? If you did, there’s a chance that your theater had the volume too LOW. Director Jon M. Chu says you need to ask your theater to crank it up . . . to a SEVEN.
Quote, “I’ve gone to a couple screenings and they are more like a 6.4 . . . If you want it the way it was intended 7 is the way.”
Dolby (you know, the audiovisual company) responded, quote, “We’ve got you covered” with a salute emoji.
Many fans replied on Jon’s tweet that they didn’t know they could request a volume change, and some said their viewing DID sound low.
“Wicked – Part One”, of course, won the box office this weekend. It opened to $114 million domestically and $164.2 million worldwide. It set the record for the biggest global and domestic opening for a movie based on a Broadway show.
(You can see the other records it broke here.)
In case you’re wondering how the other half of “Glicked” did . . . “Gladiator 2” opened with $55.5 million domestically.
