In the first game of two in Fort Pierre, the Lady Buffs welcomed in a red-hot Pirates team that set the tone from the tip, taking an early 8-0 lead and extending that to 23-7 at the half. The swarming Pirates defense was able to force 21 turnovers on their way to a 49-26 win. Jada Baloun had the night that turned heads scoring a whopping 20-points, the Pirates also got good production out of Autumn Fallis who scored 10. JoRayah Walker score 7-points for Stanley County, and the Buffs looked to their bench for a spark and got good minutes from Addy Deal who scored 6. Stanley County falls to 1-6, Highmore-Harrold improves to 6-1.
They Stanley County Boys team was able to force the split in the doubleheader winning their game with an equally convincing score of 66-46. The Buffs always thrive when they get the offense going early, and they did just that taking a 17-9 lead into the second quarter and extended their lead to 10 at the half. Highmore-Harrold was never able to cut the deficit to anything less than double-digits, and the Buffs went on a late scoring run winning the fourth quarter 14-9. Miles McPeak had a great night for the Pirates scoring 22 total, but the Stanley County offense was hitting on all cylinders as 9 different players ended up on the stat sheet with points, three of which were in double-digits. Paxton Deal led the team with 21, Eddie Duffy had 19 including 5-threes, and Kaden Montana finished with 10. The Buffs are rolling right now and sit at 4-1 on the season.
