The Crow Creek Cheiftains got their sixth win of the regular season over the Chamberlain Cubs last night, 55-49, holding off a late surge from the Cubs in the fourth quarter. The Cheiftains started this game red hot, scoring the games first 14 points and outscoring the Cubs 16-4 in the first quarter. Crow Creeks production came from all over the floor, but mainly outside the arc where they knocked down five threes in the first half alone. This game was controlled by the Chieftains for the majority of the night, even out of the halftime break as Crow Creek went on a 10-0 run to start the third. But Chamberlain finally found their groove in the fourth quarter going on a 10-0 run of their own and cutting the deficit to single-digits. But back-to-back threes by Bryson Drapeau and Kingston Big Eagle kept the Cubs at bay and the Chieftains would hold on to improve to 6-12 on the season.
Big Eagle led the Chieftains in scoring with 23 points, 15 of which came from beyond the arc. Drapeau finished with 16 points, 12 of those also coming from deep. For Chamberlain, they had two players in double-digits, Riddik Big Eagle with 12 and Kansas Honomichl-Rouse with 11. With the loss, the Cubs fall to 5-11 on the season and will play 9-6 Wagner on Friday night. The Chieftains will play 9-6 Crazy Horse Friday evening.
