The Guide has been published and registration is open for Pierre’s 2025 Summer Recreation programs.
Recreation Department Superintendent Torry Zeller says the first summer session begins June 2.
For some of the activities, Zeller says Pierre partners with local organizations.
Zeller says for the most part, the fees for Pierre’s Summer Recreation programs haven’t changed.
Zeller says the cost to purchase individual or family passes for the Pierre Outdoor Pool stays the same….. until May 1, 2025.

“We’re releasing the guide and opening up registration a little earlier this year,” said Bryan Tipton, Parks and Recreation Director. “We think it provides better customer service by allowing families to start planning a little sooner and get their activities locked in before the end-of-school rush hits.”
As the city has for the last several years, programs will be offered in four two-week sessions. Tipton says this is another customer service layer.
“Shorter run times provide more flexibility than season-long programs. That means more options for kids and their families,” added Tipton.
This season’s summer recreation guide includes stand-alone “Fantastic Friday” programming, traditional activities such as swim lessons, Safety Town, basketball, and art, as well as partnership programs like summer reading with Rawlins Library, archery with Howkota Archers, and golf at Hillsview Golf Course.
“We have dozens of programs,” said Tipton. “Our goal is to provide something to meet the interests of almost anyone.”
The first session begins on June 2. Programming runs through the end of July. Registration is open for all four sessions, as well as the stand-alone programs.
