The value of North Dakota’s 2024 field and miscellaneous crops is forecast at $9.70 billion, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service. This is down 7% from 2023.
The value of soybean production is expected to total $2.38 billion, down 9% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s soybean price is projected to average $9.70 per bushel, down $2.30 from the last marketing year.
The value of other spring wheat production is expected to total $1.72 billion, down 7% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s other spring wheat price is projected to average $5.55 per bushel, down $1.42 from the last marketing year.
The value of durum wheat production is expected to total $355 million, up 18% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s durum wheat price is projected to average $6.90 per bushel, down $2.48 from the last marketing year.
The value of corn production is expected to total $2.22 billion, down 1% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s corn price is projected to average $4.10 per bushel, down $0.04 from the last marketing year.
The value of canola production is expected to total $788 million, down 7% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s canola price is projected to average $20.10 per cwt, down $4.30 from the last marketing year.
The value of flaxseed production is expected to total $25.7 million, down 2% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s flaxseed price is projected to average $12.40 per bushel, up $0.30 from the last marketing year.
The value of potato production is expected to total $335 million, down 17% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s potato price is projected to average $13.80 per cwt, down $1.50 from the last marketing year.
The value of dry edible bean production is expected to total $445 million, up 29% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s dry edible bean price is projected to average $33.70 per cwt, down $4.90 from the last marketing year.
The value of alfalfa production is expected to total $178 million, down 43% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s alfalfa price is projected to average $97.00 per ton, down $23.00 from the last marketing year. The value of other hay production is expected to total $128 million, down 20% from the previous marketing year. North Dakota’s other hay price is projected to average $81.00 per ton, down $7.00 from the last marketing year.
