Timber Hanson and Kamora Rutherford made history as the first female wrestlers from Stanley County High School to compete in girls’ state wrestling. The team saw top-5 tournament finishes and won their home invitational, placed 3rd at Gettysburg, and 4th at the Big Dakota Conference.
Timber, placed at the state level in the 100-pound weight class, securing 5th place with a decisive victory. Her season record was 26-11.
Kamora competed in the 126-pound class, earning notable placements throughout the season, including 2nd at the Stanley County Invite. Kamora’s record was 20-16.
The team’s achievements have brought pride to their community and paved the way for future generations of female wrestlers. Their journey marks a significant step forward for girls’ wrestling in South Dakota.
