Lizzo played her first show in two years Wednesday night in L.A. In the time she was gone, she’s been dealing with a lot, including a lawsuit from backup dancers claiming she created a toxic work environment.
She told the L.A. crowd, quote, “I was so heartbroken by the world, and so deeply hurt that I didn’t want to live anymore.”
But something turned that all around. Lizzo went to a concert, and as she was walking through the crowd, someone she didn’t know looked at her and said, quote, “Lizzo, I love you.”
That one simple gesture of love and support inspired her to return to music. She added, quote, “After that I was like ‘Damn, you can’t get this [stuff] on the internet bro. This is the kind of love you only get in real life.'”
Lizzo’s new album, “Love in Real Life”, doesn’t have a release date yet, but she dropped a new single yesterday called “Still Bad”. (WARNING: The track contains profanity.)
