Emery Larson may not have had her best game against Harrisburg when the Govs punched their ticket to the State Tournament, but it seemed she was saving her best for Rapid City. Larson came out on Thursday firing from outside the three-point line and her made threes became a theme for the weekend. Larson scored 12-points against Brandon Valley (Pierre leading scorer), 12-points against Mitchell (Pierre leading scorer) and 23-points against SF Jefferson (lead both teams in scoring).
Larson has been a key piece to the Governors offense all season long. Her innate ability to catch and shoot the three in an instant was on display all throughout the 2024-25 campaign, and she was a crucial reason the Govs were playing in the State Tournament.
Her performance in the State Tournament earned her the recognition of All-Tournament Team, an honor that few get to boast. Larson, a junior, will be a key player for Pierre when the next season rolls around and they say goodbye to an outstanding class of seniors.
