If you ask a random American what their favorite sport is, you’d expect people to mention football . . . basketball . . . and maybe pickleball. But some people STILL believe baseball is “America’s Game.”
A new poll asked, “Which sport do you consider to be America’s Game?” and 38% picked BASEBALL. Coincidentally, MLB launches its 2025 season today in Japan, when most of America is sleeping . . . at 5:00 A.M. Central.
Football was next at 35%, followed by basketball with 10% . . . soccer, 2% . . . hockey, 1% . . . and golf, 1%.
The demographic that pushed baseball over the top is: Female Midwestern Boomers. Younger men and women from the South were more likely to say it’s football.
11% of people said baseball players are MORE interesting relative to other professional athletes. 19% said they’re LESS interesting, and 42% said they’re equally interesting.
The poll also asked, “Which pro sport is the most fan‑friendly to attend?” 30% said baseball . . . 18% said football . . . 10% said basketball . . . 4% said hockey . . . another 4% said soccer . . . and 33% are “not sure.”
