Fort Pierre tax revenue sees double digit increase in January 2024 compared to 2023

January 2025 was a strong month for tax collections in Fort Pierre.

City Finance Officer Roxanne Heezen says general sales tax collections were double digits higher when compared to January 2023.

Heezen says Fort Pierre’s “triple B”– or bed, board and booze tax– was also double digits higher than in 2023.

For the entire year of 2024, Fort Pierre’s general sales tax revenue was 24% higher than it was in 2023 while the BBB tax revenue was roughly 12.4% higher than in 2023.
