The Lady Jacks got a really nice win on Saturday, “upsetting” Oklahoma State in the 10 vs. 7-seed game. SDSU has had a great offensive season all year long and they brought that with them into the tournament, and while it felt like they were battling both OSU and the refs, the Jacks got it done and advanced with a 74-68 victory.
Now they look ahead to a much more difficult matchup against the #2-seeded UCONN Huskies who, in any other season, would likely be a 1-seed had it not been for USC. The Jacks will certainly be fighting an uphill battle as the Huskies simply have more size, but when you go back to the regular season, the Jacks gave a Duke team a run for their money and only lost by a few possessions. The Jacks need to play clean offense (limit turnovers) and hit their shots at a higher clip than the Huskies, and they have a fighters chance.
The game tips off at 7:00 PM CT on ESPN.
