Pierre City Commission and Stanley County School Board to hold elections June 3; No election needed for Pierre School Board

The Pierre City Commission and the Stanley County School Board will each hold an election in June (June 3, 2025).

Five candidates have turned in petitions hoping to win one of two spots on the Pierre City Commission. The candidates are incumbent Blake Barringer, Kevin Larsen, John Childs, Robin Lerseth and Matthew Reitzel. Commissioner Vona Johnson chose not to run for another three-year term.

So far, two candidates have filed petitions to run for one, three-year on the Stanley County School Board. Those people are incumbent Tyler Green and Ty Norman.

For the Pierre School Board, an election is not necessary. Incumbents Joan Adam and Jessica Lewis were the only people to turn in petitions. They will each serve another three-year term.
