We’re still looking for referees, people to help serve lunch, and help with Basketball Skills in Mitchell!

ATTENTION ATHLETES

If you are interested in applying to be a Core Runner for the 2025 South Dakota Law Enforcement Torch Run, please click on the yellow button below.

Core Runners will depart Sioux Falls on Tuesday, May 27th, and travel to various cities to meet up with local athletes and Law Enforcement for a run/walk.

The Torch Run will conclude on Thursday, May 29th, when we deliver the Flame of Hope to the Special Olympics South Dakota State Summer Games Opening Ceremony in Vermillion.

UNIFIED CHAMPION SCHOOLS

Well Done, Sioux Falls Jefferson High School

Sioux Falls Jefferson High School officially unveiled their National Banner Recognition for their accomplishments in being a Unified Champion School. Jefferson is the 7th National Banner School in South Dakota history. The award was announced to the entire school at their Inclusion Assembly during their week of Inclusion. The assembly included speeches from Jefferson Alumni, Griffin Wilde, Mayor of Sioux falls, Mayor Paul Tenhaken, and SOSD CEO/President, Darryl Nordquist, a performance by the Unified Show Choir, and topped off with a Unified Basketball showdown. Congratulation Jefferson!

Along with informing the viewers about Unified Champion Schools® programming, Viewpoint by Dennis Quaid documents the tremendous success the programming has had on East St. Louis High School in East Saint Louis, IL.

Madison Strikes for Special Olympics

Join us for a day of bowling and fun! The Madison Strikes for Special Olympics will be held on Saturday, April 12th at Cherry Lanes.

The $45 donation includes: bowling and shoes, an event t-shirt, and snacks/water.

There are four shift times available: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Galatic Bowling).
