What hopes not to be foreshadowing for the Twins 2025 campaign, today’s road-opener started with a rain delay in St. Louis. After a 90-minute delay, both teams kicked off their 2025 campaigns.
Minnesota fell behind early, giving up four runs in the first three innings. The Twins would answer with three runs of their own, scoring two in the fifth and one in the sixth, but could not muster together anymore runs before the Cardinals added a little insurance in the eighth on their way to a 5-3 win.
Twins starter, Pablo Lopez, gave up two earned runs in 5.0 innings pitched. The three runs for Minnesota came off of a two-run homer off the bat of Harrison Bader, and an RBI double from Willi Castro.
The Twins will look for their first win of the season on Saturday against the Cardinals at 1:15 PM CT. Listen live on KGFX 1060 AM and 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
