March 28, 2025:
The $26.4 million Euclid Avenue/US Highway 14/83 reconstruction project in Pierre starts Monday (March 31, 2025).
Morris Incorporated is the contractor. At a recent informational meeting, Operations Manager TJ Gallagher shared the basics of the project’s two year timeline.
Audio PlayerGallagher said Phase Two will be done almost simultaneously with parts of Phase One, but the Phase Two work will be in the Pleasant Drive and Capitol Avenue area.
Audio PlayerGallagher says Pierre Street, south of Sioux Avenue, will become a one-way with no access from Sioux.
Audio PlayerTraffic on Sioux Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in each direction during the early phases of the project.
The overall completion date is November 2026.

Informational meetings about the upcoming Euclid Avenue/U.S. Highways 14 and 83 reconstruction project in Pierre will be held tomorrow evening (March 20, 2025) in the lower level meeting area at Saint Peter & Paul Catholic Church (210 E. Broadway Ave.).
South Dakota Department of Transportation Pierre Area Engineer Dean VanDeWiele says there will be three different sessions.

Audio PlayerVanDeWiele says people can sign up to receive free text messages that will explain any major traffic pattern changes during the Euclid reconstruction project.

• 5pm for emergency services personnel;
• 6pm for the general public; and
• 7pm for local businesses.

Morris, Inc., the contractor for the Euclid Avenue reconstruction project, will provide a short presentation at each meeting. Members of the SDDOT, the City of Pierre, and Morris, Inc. will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

- 5pm for emergency services personnel;
