The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce has chosen Angel Lorenzen as the recipient of this year’s $1,000 scholarship for the DWU Learn & Earn Program in Pierre. This scholarship reflects the Chamber’s commitment to supporting the education and professional development of future business leaders within our community in alignment with our commitment to being Loyal2Local.
The DWU Learn & Earn Program gives students hands-on experience through paid internships, building skills, connections, and strengthening our workforce. We invite other organizations that value education and community investment to join us in supporting these emerging professionals. Consider contributing to the program’s growth or offering internship opportunities within your organization.
A certificate presentation was held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce to recognize Angel’s achievement. In attendance were members of the Pierre Area Chamber’s DWU Learn & Earn Scholarship Committee, Chamber Staff, Visit Pierre Staff, DWU Learn & Earn Program Coordinator & Assistant Professor, Angel Lorenzen, and her Parents.

Jan. 31, 2025, is the application deadline for the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce’s $1,000 scholarship for the Dakota Wesleyan University Learn & Earn program, based in Pierre.
The DWU Learn & Earn Program offers students hands-on experience in a business and professional setting, pairing them with paid internships at local businesses. This initiative not only enhances the students’ learning and career development but also strengthens the local workforce.
