A 27 year old man from Pierre is in custody after he allegedly broke a window at a Pierre business Tuesday night (April 1, 2025, approximately 8:30pm).
Information from the Pierre Police Department says Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 400 Block of W. Sioux Avenue for a report of a male who had broken a window at a business. The subject, identified as Bobby Anderson, had left the scene, but he returned while officers were searching the area for him. Anderson ran and after a brief foot chase, Officers were able to get him stopped on Sioux Avenue. Anderson refused to comply with commands and became aggressive with the Officers. After multiple warnings, an Officer used his Taser and was then able to subdue Anderson.
Anderson was arrested and taken to Avera St. Mary’s Hospital to be medically cleared. Once released, Anderson was taken to the Hughes County Jail. He’s charged with intentional damage to property and obstructing an officer, as well as having an active warrant out for his arrest from Pennington County.
