March 31, 2025:
The Fort Pierre Chamber of Commerce is hosting a city council candidate forum Thursday at 5:30pm (April 3, 2025) at the Quentin Sutley Senior Center in Fort Pierre.
Ward II incumbent Callie Iversen and challenger Michael Jacobson have agreed to participate. The election will be Tuesday (April 8, 2025). Ward II residents can absentee vote at the Fort Pierre City Office located in the basement of the Stanley County Courthouse in Fort Pierre.
Greg Kenzy in Ward 1 and Todd Bernhard in Ward 3 are unopposed.
March 5, 2025:
The City of Fort Pierre will hold an election next month for one of the three seats up for reelection this year.
Michael Jacobson has turned in petitions to challenge incumbent Callie Iversen for a two year term as the city council memeber in Ward 2. The election will be April 8, 2025.
Greg Kenzy in Ward 1 and Todd Bernhard in Ward 3 were unopposed.
If needed, the Pierre School Board, the Pierre City Commission and the Stanley County School Board will hold elections in June (June 3, 2025).
On the city commission, Blake Blake Barringer and Vona Johnson are up for reelection. Barringer is seeking reelection, Johnson is not. Kevin Larsen has announced that he’s running for that open seat.
On the Pierre School Board, Joan Adam and Jessica Lewis have both said they will run for reelection.
Tyler Green’s seat on the Stanley County School Board is up for reelection.
Interested candidates must circulate petitions and have them turned in to the appropriate business office by 5pm CT on March 25, 2025.
Neither the Hughes County Commission nor the Stanley County Commission have seats up for reelection this year.
