Competitive anglers from across the region are gearing up for the 3rd Annual Sharpe Showdown Walleye Tournament, returning to Pierre on April 26-27, 2025. With boats launching from Downs Marina at 7:00 AM each morning and weigh-ins beginning at 3:00 PM at the Steamboat Park Amphitheater, the tournament promises two days of high-energy fishing action along the beautiful Missouri River.
This year’s tournament will host up to 60 teams, each consisting of two anglers. The entry fee is $450 per team, and spots are expected to fill quickly. Registration can be found at pierre.org.
“We’re excited to welcome anglers and spectators back for the third year of the Sharpe Showdown,” said Miranda Panzer, Tourism Director for Visit Pierre. ” Each year the tournament grows in energy and competition, and we can’t wait to see the catches brought to the scale in 2025.”
While the tournament itself is for registered anglers, spectators are encouraged to attend the boat launches and weigh-ins, both of which are open to the public. In addition to the action on the water, visitors can enjoy refreshments at the Catch & Sip Bar located in Steamboat Park, offering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Can’t make it in person? The Fishing Crew Facebook page will provide live coverage of the boat launches and weigh-ins so fans can follow the excitement from anywhere.
