It has been a slower start than desired in Minnesota, but the Twins can earn their second series win of the season this afternoon with a win over the Mets. The Twins fell behind early in yesterday’s game, but found their bats in the third and stayed hot the rest of the game. The Twins scored in the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh inning on their way to a 6-3 win over New York. Ryan Jeffers and Harrison Bader both had three hit days for Minnesota, and Brooks Lee went deep.
Bailey Ober (1-1) gave up three earned runs on five hits with no walks and five strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings to pick up his first victory since Aug. 9, a span of 13 starts.
The Twins will look to take the series in the rubber-match today, first pitch set for 12:10 CT. David Festa is the probable starter for the Twins, the Mets have yet to release a starter. You can listen on KGFX 1060 AM or 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
