The Twins got their series against Baltimore started in just about the best way possible blowing the doors wide-open with a five-run third inning. For Minnesota, it was a game of big innings as they added four more in the seventh to essentially put away the birds. Carlos Correa was one of the Twins getting in on the fun hitting a homerun halfway to South Dakota travelling 458 feet and finishing the day with three hits. Byron Buxton continued his production at the plate going deep and finishing 2-4 with 4 RBI.
On the mound, Pablo Lopez threw a gem going 5.0 IP and only giving up two hits and earning the win. Lopez improves to 3-2 on the season while the Twins improve to 16-20. Minnesota now sits 6.5 games out of first place in the AL Central and looks to continue to chip away at that tonight in game two against Baltimore. First pitch is set for 6:10 PM CT and you can listen on KGFX 1060 AM or on 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
