Weather permitting, S. Garfield Avenue in Pierre, between Sully Avenue and Pawn Avenue, will close Wednesday (May 21, 2025) for underground water utility work.
Barring complications, the closure is anticipated to lift before Friday. Local access will be maintained. Until the street is reopened, other traffic should detour around the area.
The City of Pierre maintains more than 100 miles of water main.
