The newest 4×200 girls relay record stood for all of about 24 hours thanks to the Govs girls relay team. Emlyn Swanson, Lennix DuPris, Charlee Williams-Smith and Kali Ringstmeyer set a milestone accomplishment just one day ago when they blistered the field in the qualifying event. On Friday, the girls finished with a time of 1:40.11 which, at the time, was the fastest SD high school record in that category in the prominent tournaments history. Earlier today, the track stars one-upped themselves and set a new record time of 1:39.60.
This marks the first time there has been an official time for this event under 1:40.00, setting the bar to a level that many did not think was possible. To see a full list of results from the state tournament, click here
