That’s more like it! The Twins have been on a lengthy road trip, and have lost their last two series. This series against the Athletics felt like the perfect time to get things back on the right track. And the Twins took full advantage of that last night.
In a late start, the Twins got the offense going early, scoring six runs in the second inning. It all started with Ty France who scored two runners on a base hit, giving the floor to Byron Buxton who cleared the bases with a double to give the Twins a 4-0 lead.
Buxton would continue his dominant night at the plate with a single in the sixth that scored Clemens and France. But Buxton wasn’t done just yet. In the ninth, Buxton would hit a sac fly to score Willi Castro earning Buxton his fifth RBI of the game, as he single-handedly outscored the A’s all by himself.
Minnesota would go onto win 10-4 and pickup their 32nd win of the season (32-27). Game two of this series will see Pablo Lopez (4-3) face off against a winless Jacob Lopez (0-3). First pitch is set for 9:05 PM CT tonight on KGFX 1060 AM and 103.1 FM in the Pierre area.
