South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden is taking his Open for Opportunity Tour to Mobridge and Aberdeen on Thursday (June 5, 2025).
Rhoden encourages local leaders and community members to join him for coffee at 10am CT at the Great Plains Restaurant in Mobridge.
After that stop, Rhoden will head to the Aberdeen area, where he will visit the Richmond Dam and Smack Pet Food.
Rhoden says investing in public infrastructure such as the Richmond Dam is important for both safety and recreation– helping to keep South Dakota Open for Opportunity.
Smack Pet Food– a family-owned and operated business from Canada– began construction on its facility in Aberdeen last fall and plans to be fully operational this summer (2025). Aberdeen is the company’s first location in the United States.
