The Oahe Habitat for Humanity’s building project in Pierre has received the first installment a financial donation from a local lender.
BankWest Business Development Officer and Oahe Habitat for Humanity Advisory Board Member Ross Julson recently presented a check representing the first installment of the bank’s pledge to Jess Wulf, Executive Director of the Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity.
“We are incredibly grateful for BankWest’s generous donation,” said Wulf. “This support helps us continue our vital mission of providing decent, affordable housing to families in need throughout the Oahe region.”
Oahe Habitat for Humanity, currently managed as a division of the Brookings Area Habitat for Humanity, is actively raising funds for a Governor’s Home to be placed on its local build site, as well as for essential repairs to existing homes that qualify for the organization’s home repair programs.
“We are pleased to help bring people together to build homes, community, and hope,” said Ross Julson. “Supporting Habitat for Humanity aligns with BankWest’s commitment to strengthening the communities we serve.”
The total donation will be $60,000 over three years.
Part of a global, nonprofit organization, Oahe Habitat for Humanity strives to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live. The organization responds to the local housing crisis by making decent, affordable home ownership possible in communities throughout the region.
