It was not the most enjoyable Father’s Day weekend for the Minnesota Twins who have found just about every way to lose a ball game over their four-game losing streak. They lost Friday 10-3 in blowout fashion, lost 3-2 in heartbreaking fashion when Astros rookie Cam Smith walked them off in the bottom of the ninth, and then had got walked off again yesterday afternoon to lose in a low scoring 2-1 game.
But the Twins can look at the bright side, even though they have lost four in a row, they still sit in second place in the AL Central. The Twins are 9 games back of the Detroit Tigers who are one of the hottest teams in baseball. Minnesota fell to 36-35 on the season and are in danger of dropping back to (or below) .500 for the first time in a very long time. The Twins head to Cincinnati tomorrow to take on the Reds for a three-game series after a much needed off-day today. First pitch tomorrow set for 6:10 CT.
