Weather permitting, Pierre will begin water valve replacement Monday (June 23, 2025) at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Governors Drive.
Broadway will be closed from Governors Dr. to Washington Avenue to allow for work within the intersection. Governors Dr. will remain open, but traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction zone.
The City of Pierre serves more than 13,640 customers who use an average of 2.6 million gallons of water each day. The city’s water service is supplied by Missouri River surface water that is treated at the city’s drinking water treatment facility and then distributed to customers.
