The Oahe Zap continued to bust the seems off the baseball last night as they tagged the third place Casper Spuds for 13 runs in just 8 innings. The night began with Zap starter Aidan Johnson pitching about as efficient of a frame as there is in baseball, recording three outs on just seven pitches. The Zap loaded the bases in the first, but were only able to bring one run across, that is until they loaded them again in the second and a Ty Farwell walk and a Vince Polizzi grand slam blew the game wide open.
Johnson would remain efficient until Quinn Ludvigsen came on in relief and picked up right where Johnson left off retiring his first three batters in the blink of an eye. The Zap continued to manufacture runs, bringing runners across in every inning but two. The Zap scored two in the seventh then two more in the eighth to end the game via run-rule and get the win. The Zap have now scored 23 runs in their last two games and split the series with the rival Spuds.
The Zap will look to continue their winning ways tonight as they welcome in Plainsmen Baseball for game one of a three game series. It should be another perfect night for baseball at Hyde Stadium, so if you’re going to make it out to the ballpark, buy your tickets at http://www.OaheZap.com or buy them at the box office before the game. If you can’t make it, we will have coverage on River 92.7 and also streaming live on DRGnews.com/river
