The Oahe Zap spent yet another day at Hyde Stadium bringing runners across home as they scored 10+ runs for their third straight game, and winning their third in a row with dominant 12-4 victory over Plainsmen Baseball yesterday afternoon. The Zap have now scored 35 combined runs over the last three games and have limited their opponents to just 13 runs in that span, that’s a winning formula.
On a partly cloudy day at the ballpark, the Zap fell behind early 3-0 after Plainsmen used small ball to manufacture some early runs, but as has been the theme all season long, it’s tough to keep the Zap bats quiet for all nine innings. After going scoreless through the first three innings, the Zap brought runs across in every inning for the remainder of the game. Maybe more impressive, Zap’s Vince Polizzi hit his second grand slam in as many days to put the Zap out in front 6-3. Zap utility man Ty Farwell also left the ballpark with a homerun of his own, sending a two run shot over the right field wall just inside the foul pole.
Oahe got a masterful start from Josh Porter who threw 6 innings before handing it over to his bullpen to close the deal. It was another all-around outstanding performance from the Zap who are the hottest team in the ILB as of today. They will look to continue their great work in game two of this three game series with Plainsmen tonight at 6:05 PM CT at Hyde Stadium. You can get tickets at www.OaheZap.com or at the box office. If you can’t make it to the game, we will have coverage beginning at 5:55 PM CT on River 92.7 and streaming on www.DRGnews.com/river
