June 27, 2025:
As always, Fort Pierre will be a busy place over the Independence Day holiday.
Mayor Gloria Hanson says July 4th starts off with the annual 4 on the 4th event.
Hanson says the annual 4th of July parade starts at 10am CT.
Hanson says this year’s parade marshal had a pretty remarkable day recently at his family owned business.
Again this year, Hanson says there’s going to be a military flyover at noon CT. The planned route is over the Oahe Dam and down Deadwood Avenue.
As for fireworks, Hanson says only certain types of fireworks are allowed and only during certain hours.
