Now that country music is “cool” again, and folks like Post Malone and Beyoncé are making successful country albums . . . does that mean it’s time for Taylor Swift to embrace her country roots once again?
Taylor and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, were just in Nashville partying at Jason Aldean’s bar, too. Does that mean she’s returning to country?
“The Boot” makes a pretty convincing case as to why Taylor should return to country music. Here are the main reasons:
1. She’s coming up on the 20th anniversary of her self-titled debut album. “Taylor Swift” came out on October 24th, 2006.
2. Taylor is in her nostalgic era. She finally got her master recordings back, so now what’s next? Another song about Tim McGraw? Hopefully.
3. America is in its country era. Country music is as popular as ever. Why wouldn’t TayTay want a piece?
4. Ed Sheeran might do it. Ed keeps popping up all around Nashville singing country . . . so if more pop stars join in, will Taylor join the fun, too?
5. A country Grammy would be Taylor’s for the taking. Maybe Beyoncé can even hand her the award?
