With only a few weeks remaining in the regular season, the Oahe Zap have put themselves in a position they have never been before. With their dominant play in the month of July, they have thrust themselves into first place in the ILB and in a heated battle for the final playoff position at the end of the year. In year’s past, the playoffs were a pipedream for the Zap, always running into issues with their bullpen, defense or not generating enough offense to make a run. But this year has been different. The Zap starting rotation have often come out and delivered, the offense has scored 10+ runs seemingly every game they play, and their relief staff has been outstanding. It has truly been a huge step for the Zap organization with their play this year.
However, there is still work to be done with only nine regular season games remaining, five of which come at home at Hyde Stadium. The Zap sit atop the ILB, but have other teams nipping at their heels with a week and a half left to play, so each win grows more and more crucial with each passing day. There are multiple scenarios in which the Zap make the postseason, but they all require winning. The Zap look to continue their race to the postseason tonight against the Fremont Moo, and will expect a good crowd there to cheer them on. First pitch is set for 6:05 PM CT tonight, and we will have the coverage on River 92.7 beginning at 5:55 PM CT. You can also watch the game live on the River 92.7 station page at DRGnews.com or on the Oahe Zap YouTube page. To get your tickets, go to OaheZap.com or buy them at the box office.
