LifeServe Blood Center is the main supplier of blood and blood products for the Avera hospitals and clinics across South Dakota and currently, they have a critical shortage of five of the eight different types of blood.
However, LifeServe Territory Representative Abbie Arneson says people in the Onida area can help out on Thursday (July 24, 2025).
Then on July 31 from 1-5:20pm, LifeServe will hold a blood drive at the First United Methodist Church in Pierre.
Arneson says people can schedule an appointment on LifeServe’s website.
To help speed up your blood donation process, Arneson says people can log into their account on the LifeServe website to fill out the health questionnaire. If you haven’t created an account, you can do that at LifeServeBloodCenter.org, then proceed from there.
