The first round of the final tournament of the year wrapped up yesterday on a muggy and overcast day at East Lake Golf Club in Georgia. The top 30 players on the PGA Tour battling for a bigger share of the $40,000,000 purse and the FedEx Cup. While many figured that World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler would find his way to the top of the leaderboard, it was American Russel Henley who took the low round home from day one with a -9 61. Scheffler wasn’t far behind, however, as he lurks just a few strokes behind after firing an opening round 63.
