After much anticipation, US Ryder Cup team captain Keegan Bradley has officially selected his roster for this year’s matchup with the Europeans. The team is made up of six players who solidified a spot on the team with their play throughout the season. That list includes Scottie Scheffler, JJ Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russel Henley, Harris English and Bryson Dechambeau. Keegan Bradley then was tasked with filling the final six roster spots at his discretion, and there was plenty of conversation around whether or not he would call his own number after his strong finish to the 2025 PGA Tour season. The general consensus among US golf fans was that Bradley should choose himself, he has an energy on the course that is hard to match, he had been playing well and the fans absolutely love him. However, Bradley decided to leave himself off the roster and went with six other players who he feels can give the US a fighting chance. The final six are Justin Thomas, Colin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay and Sam Burns.
All of these guys minus Ben Griffin have Ryder Cup experience, and the US will need them to lean on that experience if they want to take the cup back from the Europeans after a dismal performance two years ago. The Europeans dominated just about every aspect of the last Ryder Cup, essentially shutting out the Americans from start to finish. But this edition of the Ryder Cup will be on home-soil for the US, as it is being held at Bethpage Black in New York. Bethpage, a public course, is coined as the toughest public golf course in the world. The tournament will get underway on September 26th and play out through the weekend concluding on the 28th. Both the US and Europeans have traded the cup back and forth over the last four tournaments, but the US will look to regain control come late September.
