The section of E. Franklin Street in Pierre between Pierce Avenue and Lincoln Avenue is closed to through traffic beginning Friday (Sept. 5, 2025).
This curb and gutter project includes the installation of valley gutter, which channels rainwater through the street system. Improving water drainage helps protect the pavement and extends the life of city streets.
The project is expected to take about a week to complete, weather permitting. Local traffic will be maintained, but again, E. Franklin Street in Pierre between Pierce Avenue and Lincoln Avenue is closed to through traffic for about the next week.
The City of Pierre appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews complete this important infrastructure improvement.
